The announcement could be made official throughout E3, during the Xbox conference with Bethesda
The E3 is just days away and both organizers and participating companies are finalizing the details of their presence. After yesterday plans of companies such as Ubisoft or Square Enix were unveiled and some 2K announcements were leaked, today we have a rumor that puts on the table what would be one of the great Xbox surprises: the acquisition of known IPs to produce aftermath.
As one user on Reddit collects, it was an insider who has spoken about the Xbox plans during the last program of the Defining Duke podcast (which at the moment is only available for Patreons of the program). According to the information provided here, Xbox plans could involve buying the rights to some IPs to produce sequels and new video games in their universes.
Specifically, the information indicates that Xbox would have already acquired, at least, the rights to a video game for its internal development studios to work with. Although the source of this information is not very sure that it will happen, it states that it is possible that this purchase will be made public throughout the Xbox conference at E3.
As always, this is all unofficial information and we should treat it like the rumors and speculation that they are. We will have to wait for E3 and Xbox to give details about the future of its video games. For now we can not do anything other than stay alert to bring any news that may arise in this regard and we remind you that you can follow both the Xbox conference and the rest of E3 live with us from June 12 to 15.
