Cloud Camber is in charge of the new installment of the franchise
BioShock was one of the most interesting franchises with 3 installments that debuted in the era of the Xbox 360 and PS3. However, after the debut of BioShock Infinite and its respective expansion DLC, everything has come down to the launch of BioShock: The Collection on different platforms, the last of them Switch. Despite this, the IP has come back to life as 2K Games approved a fourth installment in the hands of Cloud Chamber and apparently it would give something to talk about for a detail in its publication.
BIOSHOCK 4 AS EXCLUSIVE PS5?
In a future full of services, cross-play and other forms of distribution and interaction that break the limits of hardware, exclusives will be important to attract a sector of gamers, but this is not reduced to what the PlayStation studios do or Xbox, as we will also see projects from other teams that will see exclusivity, either temporarily or throughout the cycle. Precisely, this could be the case with the new BioShock , according to a ComicBook report that quotes insider Nick “Shpeshal_Ed” Baker.
According to “Shpeshal_Ed”, who has gained notoriety for providing information that has later been confirmed, the new BioShock could be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. In that sense, the insider pointed out on the Xbox Era podcast that his sources have informed him that Sony is very interested in reaching an exclusive agreement with 2K Games for the next installment of BioShock to be released exclusively on PS5. Later, the insider made it clear that at the moment there is no way of knowing whether the two companies reached an agreement or not, but mentioned that Sony is very insistent that it be so.
At the moment, there are not many details about the new BioShock , but in February 2020 it was reported that the project is in an early phase of development . What would this mean? It may be that Sony reaches an agreement with 2K Games to finance part of the project ensuring its exclusivity on PS5, or that a distribution agreement is reached in which Sony pays for a temporary exclusivity, something that has been common in recent years. .
What’s your opinion about it?
