Sucker Punch, the team that gave birth to Ghost of Tsushima, is looking for a Senior Writer for an open world game with character-driven stories.
Through Gamasutra, a newspaper also dedicated to the publication of job offers, we have the opportunity to discover that Sucker Punch (inFamous, Ghost of Tsushima ) is looking for a new Senior Writer for an open world game that tells impactful stories based on the characters. There is talk of “exciting stories”, “memorable characters” and “strong dialogue”.
The Senior Writer would join the Sucker Punch team who is currently working “on the next project”: unfortunately there are no details on what it could be, except that it is an open world game – as mentioned – with a narrative component deeply linked to the own characters. Obviously the first thought is that Sucker Punch is working on the sequel to Ghos of Tsushima: the adventures of Jin Sakai have convinced critics and audiences, it is perfectly credible that Sony PlayStation has started work on a new chapter of the same IP.
Obviously for now it is only a speculation, not official information. The work proposal specifies that the Senior Writer should work with the writing team, project leaders and other departments to create the story of the game while staying aligned with the creative directors and the core points of the game’s storytelling. The candidate joining Sucker Punch must have at least 5 years of experience and must have worked on various gaming projects, including at least one AAA as a Senior Writer.
That’s all we know for now – hopefully new information about the Sucker Punch project will emerge later in the year.
