Some details appear in job offers published by Cloud Chamber studio. In one of them it was revealed that candidates for the position of Senior Gameplay Programmer will run on Unreal Engine 5.
Cloud Chamber is the studio that is working on the next BioShock : although we currently know very little about this new chapter, a recent job announcement suggests that the game will be developed using Unreal Engine 5, recently entered early access.
The Montreal-based firm confirmed in the position they sought that the candidate ” will work with Unreal Engine 5 by adapting existing systems and building new technologies “. Since BioShock 4 is still in the very early stages of development, this announcement is likely to apply to that project.
Here is the full description :
We are looking for a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join our Gameplay team. In this role you will own a large part of our World Systems and Player Progression systems. You will work collaboratively with Design, Animation, Audio, and Art to build some of these large systems and own their technical creation from the ground up, starting with prototyping, and carrying them all the way to a polished state. During this process you will have constant opportunities to help elevate, problem solve, and steer these ideas as they develop.
This could make this new BioShock look really incredible, but it would limit its release almost entirely to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, thus forgetting about an intergenerational work. oppositely, BioShock 4 is currently under development since 2019. there is a possibility that it will launch at the end of 2022 or mid of 2023
