Did someone say competitive multiplayer and with an esports scene?
Yes, many would like Bungie to return to Halo development, but that is hardly going to happen. Also, many of us wanted the relationship between the company and Activision to have exploited Destiny’s full potential, but the breakup and its consequences took their toll. However, it takes more than that to take down Bungie and there are new projects on the way – in fact, a recent vacancy yielded clues about plans that would already be in the works.
BUNGIE’S NEW GAME COULD BE MULTIPLAYER AND COMPETITIVE
Despite how bumpy their path has been since the Microsoft relationship ended, Bungie always generates interest and of course there is expectation for the future. It is known that the company has the infrastructure to feed new projects, it even has an incubator for young developers, and apparently one of them is already taking shape. A report from the Twitter account, Destiny News, shared information about a project that is taking shape at Bungie and which refers to some details about it.
According to the information, Bungie is looking for a designer who will work on a sandbox project carried out in the company’s incubator. In that sense, the vacancy refers to the project as the “new multiplayer and action title.”
Also, the vacancy requests that the designer have experience with character-focused action games, but at the same time must be familiar with the competitive scenes of video games and esports.
If the above is taken into account, it seems that Bungie, in one of its future projects, will opt for a multiplayer proposal that appeals to competitiveness and perhaps to the formation of an esports environment. Will the company try to compete with Call of Duty, Overwatch or VALORANT? Only time will tell.
How about this idea for a new Bungie game?
