Doctor Strange had amazed many fans when he presented the Mad Titan with the Time Stone. While this stratagem was part of the plan to save humanity, the Sorcerer Supreme did not claim the Eye of Agamotto after the events ofAvengers: Endgame. However, it is a safe bet that the quest for the Gem is preponderant to the future mission of Doctor Strange. Given the place of the Multiverse in the next superhero adventures, it would not be surprising if the character played by Benedict Cumberbatch aims to recover the Stone. However, and while this plot may be particularly captivating, it could also create a major problem for the next Phases of the MCU.
Among the many capacities of the Stone, this one allows in particular to see through the future. This skill may have been useful to Doctor Strange during Infinity War. On the other hand, it could cause storytelling issues in the future. If the Gem of Time were to be reintegrated into the MCU, it would be easy for the Sorcerer Supreme to study all the temporal consequences of a situation, analyze it and get the best out of it. This is why its use should be limited and in reality have several consequences. In this way, the Sorcerer Supreme could use it only occasionally, retaining this particular ability only in dire situations where the benefits of its use outweigh the consequences. That being said and although this spring would allow to maintain a convincing narration, the unveiled synopsis of Doctor Strange 2 would have teased the resurgence of the Infinity Stones. What to wonder if Marvel Studios did not make a big mistake!
