Will Black Widow be available to stream on Disney +?
A few months ago, Marvel Studios announced that the film would be streaming on Disney +, in addition to the one on the big screen. However, this measure does not concern France at all. With us, the release of Black widow will be done exclusively at the cinema.
Because having a preview of the film is always better, find out below the very last trailer of Black widow, in French and original version with subtitles.
The summary of the film shared by the official Marvel Studios site describes the following plot: In the spy thriller Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff aka the Black Widow confronts the darkest parts of her origins, when a dangerous conspiracy linked to her past surfaces. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to destroy her , Natasha must come to terms with her past as a spy and the broken relationships she left behind, long before she became one of the Avengers. “
- Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow
Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow is the same who was introduced in Iron man 2. In the movie, The Avenger is however on the run as a result of the events of Captain America: Civil War, during which she helped Steve Rogers and thus betrayed the Sokovia Accords.
Like the other Black Widows, Yelena Belova has followed the training of the Red Room, she is thus a spy just like Natasha Romanoff, whom she considers her big sister.
Melina Vostokoff is like a mother to Natasha and Yelena. Like her two “daughters”, she also followed the training of the Red Room, the place of training of the Black Widow. In the comic books, she is known by another identity, that of Iron Maiden.
- Alexei Shostakov, Red Guardian
If Melina Vostokoff acts as a mother figure, Alexei Shostakov embodies a father figure for Natasha and Yelena, whom he considers to be his daughters. The latter is best known for being the Red Guardian, a Soviet version of Captain America.
Rick Mason is a former SHIELD agent and one of Natasha Romanoff’s contacts. In love with the latter, he will come to her aid during his run.
Taskmaster, or the Master of Corvée in French version, is the enemy launched on the heels of Natasha in the film. His identity is unknown, but it is known nonetheless that he watched the Avengers for years in order to copy and appropriate their fighting techniques. He was particularly inspired by Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain America, or even Black Widow herself.
Thaddeus Ross is the Secretary of State of the United States, previously seen in several MCU movies including The Incredible Hulk and Captain America: Civil War. He’s probably been looking for Natasha since she broke the Sokovia Accords.
A former member of the Soviet armed forces, Dreykov oversees the operation of the Red Room, and controls Taskmaster. It is also he who launches him in pursuit of a female character who we guess to be Natasha, since he asks her in the trailer “take her home”.
All the characters mentioned above could obviously not exist without their interpreters, to discover below:
- Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow: Scarlett johansson
- Yelena Belova: Florence pugh
- Melina Vostokoff: Rachel Weisz
- Alexei Shostakov, Red Guardian: David harbor
- Rick Mason: OT Fagbenle
- Thaddeus Ross: William hurt
- Dreykov: Ray winstone
Who is the director of Black Widow?
Behind the camera we find Australian director Cate Shortland, especially known for films Lore and The somersault. She previously described Black widow like a movie that will stand out from the rest of the MCU for its more serious tone. She also described a movie in which Natasha Romanoff will be faced with difficult situations that will require her to show a lot of courage and determination.
Will there be a Black Widow sequel?
As of yet, no sequel plans have been confirmed by Marvel Studios. However, according to some rumors (this information should therefore be taken with a grain of salt) a second film could see the day in which Yelena Belova would take up the torch from Natasha Romanoff, and thus embody the new Black Widow of the MCU.
