343 Industries will correct technical issues in the upcoming Halo MCC Season 7.
Being one of the most beloved first-person shooters ever, it’s no wonder that Halo: Combat Evolved has seen several reruns in the 20 years that it has been with us. We had the Xbox original, a handheld PC adaptation of Gearbox, and the Halo CE Anniversary remaster, the latter re-released in Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One and on PC. But did you know that since 2003 we have been playing a version with graphical errors?
The bugs in question, as we say, have no impact on the gameplay; But the most enthusiastic fans have suffered for almost two decades from the Halo CE port from Gearbox to PC, which is in turn the version on which Halo CE Anniversary is based as a standalone game on Xbox 360 and as part of Halo MCC on XONE and computer.
HCE Anniversary is based on the Gearbox PC port from 2003 Fortunately, 343 Industries has catered to the fans: the season 7 from The Master Chief Collection will fix Halo CE visual bugs, which of course only apply to the classic look and not the remastered ones. The result should be more similar to what the game had on the first Xbox back in 2001, only with a higher resolution and FPS rate.
If you are part of the Halo Insider programWe highly recommend entering the Halo Waypoint forums to see if you have been invited to the Season 7 “Flight” (beta) so you can test these changes for yourself. Those who are not so lucky will have to settle for seeing the comparisons of Mint Blitz on YouTube, which is also an ax recording incredible Halo plays. In the meantime, we are still looking forward to the arrival of Halo Infinite this year.
