Yesterday, the competitive scene of Street Fighter V, even fighting games in general, was in turmoil. The 2021 edition of the international tournament Red bull kumite took place offline in accordance with the health measures of the COVID-19 pandemic, facing players from all over the world.
Among them, two French: Nathan “Mister Crimson” Massol, which notably made it to the Top 12 of EVO Japan 2020, and Olivier “Luffy” Hay, former EVO champion. After each winning the quarter-finals, the two players had to face each other in the semi-final, won 4 3 by Mister Crimson (replay available here).
Much too moved by the victory of @MistahCrimson !
To see a friend and champion with a heart of gold win, to shut the mouths of those who said that Europe was free, to find the atmosphere offline, to be around people I love, to realize that it is the end … .I cracked https://t.co/3wsCmvj14f

Crimson then opened the scoring of the final by winning the first round against Laura led by iDom. The latter then came back up with two points, and so on until Crimson won the last round.
This victory marked the first won by a Westerner since the creation of Red Bull Kumite in 2015, let alone by a Frenchman. Something to delight fans of the Hexagon! The final can be watched in replay above!
