Time travelAvengers: Endgame, although it did help defeat Thanos, has many inconsistencies about the future of the universe that have not been able to fully satisfy MCU fans.. However, a theory relayed by Reverse suggests that Iron Man might have fixed the flaws of this time travel precisely by sacrificing himself. If for some the real goal of his snap was the creation of the Fantastic 4, for others the character embodied since 2008 by Robert Downey. Jr in a salutary gesture, had above all for objective to restore the order in the chronology. Avengers: Endgame made it explicit that no one in the movie – Bruce Banner included – understood time travel as well as Tony did. The genius of the MCU would indeed have been aware of any issues that could have arisen from time travel and could have known what he would need to do to prevent it from ultimately sabotaging the efforts of the Avengers.
Since using all six Infinity Stones at the same time gives its user almost unlimited power, Tony could have used the gems to correct every timeline established in Avengers: Endgame. An interesting theory that would allow Phase 4 of the MCU to easily correct some time travel inconsistencies. That being said, Tony Stark didn’t seem to be aware of Loki’s escape with the Tesseract in the Russo Brothers movie, which could mean that at least one alternate timeline still exists: the one we will soon find in the movie. Disney + series with Tom Hiddleston. On the other hand, if this theory were true, it would most certainly be a disappointment to MCU fans for the universe to correct its mistakes simply thanks to the genius of Tony Stark. To find out, we will have to wait for the show’s release on the platform but also all the Marvel adaptations dealing with the Multiverse. Maybe they can help us see more clearly!
