When this Movie came out I was really looking forward to seeing it; it had a limited release (if memory serves me) but when it got put out on Video I Rented it right away (Blockbuster was still booming sort of) and the first thing in this Movie was THIS SCENE; you could tell that this had a lot of meaning for not just the Director but for Colin as well because it sets up the Audience to understand that “Everything you thought you knew (expectations) are going out the Window” this was a moment in Film where a Actor who was really really popular basically killed his Career because this was something so different than the Shoes he had been filling in Hollywood.
However there is a lot more to this Movie then Colin Farrell and a lot of personality and some really dark “humor” but you get this Movie that just flips everything upside down.
It’s Gritty as hell, it’s crazy, it’s almost a “Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels” kinda vibe but then you just keep getting so many twists that (at that time) wasn’t something ppl wanted. Having some twists are good but when you are taking things like the unwritten expectations of the public and then basically turning that into kitty litter, well, it’s kinda tough to sell this Movie to the Masses considering it attacks so many things that Masses eat up.
“You just never really know; what’s gonna’ happen”
