With an enemy in common and by putting a little water in their wine, Homelander and Butcher could finally find a temporary point of understanding in season 3 of The Boys!
Homelander is the leader of the Seven in The Boys, but also the most horrible of superheroes – besides, his excessive temper is likely to worsen in season 3! If the latter has several enemies in the series, his worst detractor is obviously Butcher, because of their liabilities. Always so angry for what he did to Becca but also because of all the atrocities he committed with strangers, Billy will never stop hunting down Homelander. However, the comics of The Boys revealed that they had already managed to make a truce, the time of a mission. Without having whispered sweet words to each other, the two rivals had joined forces to take down a common detractor, Lamplighter. Could they team up again to stop one of their enemies?
Indeed, in the comics, the narrative arc of Lamplighter alias The Torch-Man is a little different from that of the series. Prime Video. He has always been different from the Seven, acting in his own interests. In the comics, for example, he killed Mallory’s grandchildren for no particular reason, just because he wanted to. While the Boys were investigating the plane crash in which Homelander had left many innocent people to die, the leader of the Seven had entrusted them with Lamplighter as a pardon. If it was obviously to forget his horrible act, Homelander and Butcher still worked together for a common cause. If Lamplighter committed suicide in the history of the series, however, we can imagine that the two antagonists could stick together in season 3 of The Boys. Maybe it’s the sassy Little Nina, included in the cast of the sequel, who will harm them both!
