Streets of Rage 4: Mr. X Nightmare DLC arrives this year with new modes and fighters

After the leak on Steam two weeks ago, the announcement was open secret. Despite everything, nothing helped: the comeback of Streets of Rage in 2020 was so triumphant that we will take an additional drink, history.

The 2D beat’em all genre is doing very well, thanks for it. In less than a year of existence, Streets of Rage 4 has indeed sold 2.5 million copies, a nice performance for a genre that some recently considered dead.

This resurrection which we owe to the Dotemu / Guard Crush / Lizardcube triptych warned us: faced with this success as critical as it is commercial, we had to expect to see one day or another land a DLC for families. It is now done, since the french today announce Mr. X Nightmare, a DLC which will enrich a varied dj roster with three new fighters.

Triumvirage

Only the presence of ex-boss Estel Aguirre is confirmed for the moment, and you can already experience the ease with which the officer switches from fists to throwing weapons in the trailer unveiled for the occasion. The basic fighters will not be left out, since they will benefit from new moves which take on the air of variations, and allow new combos always crazier.

A brand new Survival mode will also be part of the game., and will therefore offer the most enduring to test their skill. If the latter remains mysterious, the most attentive will have already noticed new buff icons which will undoubtedly prove to be very useful to stay in the game. Dotmeu takes the opportunity to announce the participation of Tee Lopes, a composer who was able to roll his bump via Sonic Mania, League of Legends or even Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom.

But because times are hard and good news is too rare, know thata new difficulty mode Mania + will appear for free, alongside a tutorial phase intended to increase the level of play accordingly. Ah, and swordfish too. It’s funny, swordfish.
