Although it is not yet confirmed that a new installment of the Assassin’s Creed saga will come out this year, it is to be assumed that Ubisoft is already working on a new chapter of the series, and a recent rumor would have already revealed the possible location of the game. If he is correct, it would take place during the third crusade , shortly after the events of the first Assassin’s Creed .
This rumor comes from a French YouTuber who proved to have insider information about the release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (via ComicBook ). He assures that this new installment of the series would take place during what we know as the third crusade. In this historical period that includes between 1189 and 1192, England, France and the Holy Roman Empire, he tried to reconquer the Holy Land from the Ayubid Sultan Saladin, who captured the region in 1187. Compared to other crusades, he was successful, but the army he failed to capture Jerusalem , which was the main objective.
As for the game itself, beyond its obvious closeness to the first Assassin’s Creed, it would take place between 1191 and 1199, that is, the end of the third crusade and the years after. He also anticipates that historical figures such as King Richard the Lionheart will appear, cities such as Paris, Cologne, Corfu, Vienna, Acre and Dubrovnik. The protagonist would be called Edmund, an unpublished character in the saga.
At the moment it is a simple rumor, Ubisoft has not shared any information about the new installment of Assassin’s Creed officially. Still, if this leak, this new installment of the series would hit stores in 2022 . This year it seems that they will focus on expansions for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the first expansion already has a release date .
