Mon Amie Adèle, a series adapted from Sarah Pinborough’s novel, is a hit on Netflix. Can the psychological thriller get a sequel? The author responds.
Released for several weeks on Netflix, My friend Adele is already one of the most viewed series by French subscribers to the platform. As a reminder, the show was adapted from the novel by Sarah Pinborough, released in 2017. Immediately, its sustained plot and its spectacular ending convinced fans, the latter already wondering if My friend Adele could be entitled to a season 2. It is true that if the series could end thus, the season 1 of the thriller leaves us with several unanswered questions. As The Lady’s Game, My friend Adele was conceived as a mini-series, not intended to be a sequel. However, could Netflix order new episodes? The author of the book offers us some answers.
The day of the release of My friend Adele on Netflix, the author of the book had given an interview to theExpress UK. When asked if a sequel to the series was in the works, she responded then : “Not that I know”, without closing the doors: “I’d be curious to see what they can do because it’s a pretty closed ending. But if it works out well [la saison 1], we never know”. In view of the enthusiasm of the fans around My friend Adèle, we can at least hope that Netflix looks into the matter. At Melty, we have already imagined the sequel: we would like to see the development of these three plots in the sequel to My friend Adèle.
