Blade’s reboot starring Mahershala Ali could welcome the daughter of the famous vampire hunter, according to a new report.
The latest news about the reboot of Blade allowed us to learn more about the production schedule. The opportunity for the podcast Phase Zero and the Murphy’s Multiverse to teaser the start date of filming at the end of 2021 as well as a potential theatrical release by October 2022. Crisp announcements that have thrilled many fans while the development of the feature film with Mahershala Ali seems today to have taken a further step forward. Indeed, according to a report by DisInsider, the production has reportedly launched a casting call in order to get its hands on a character named Ruby described as a teenage girl “strong, serious, tired of living in such a complex world.”
According to ComicBook, this unprecedented announcement could suggest the presence of a secondary role alongside the character of Mahershala Ali. However, since Marvel Studios are masters in the art of muddling the waters, it would not be surprising if the production used a false name in order to retain the true identity of the character sought. A technique which could therefore lead us to think that the Ruby in question would actually be Fallon Gray, the daughter of Eric Brooks. If a comic book project titled Blade the hunter was originally intended to portray this never-before-seen character, the work of Tim Seeley and Logan Faerber was ultimately scrapped. What offer the opportunity to Marvel studios to introduce themselves Fallon Gray alongside his father in the reboot, this element may ultimately explain why the film will not benefit from the R-Rated classification.
