We finally know today which is the best-selling smartphone last year. And unsurprisingly, it was produced in Apple factories!
It’s a question that comes up every year now: what was the best-selling smartphone? In view of the fierce competition between manufacturers, this is a legitimate question. And all the more so as more often than not, it is Apple which places one of its smartphones in place of world number 1, despite the low number of phones formalized each year by the Apple brand. We remember that in 2019, it was the iPhone Xr that was bought the most by consumers across the planet. And in 2020, it is again the Cupertino company that wins at the end.
Indeed, according to the ranking of the 10 best-selling smartphones last year established by the firm Omdia, the iPhone 11 was the most popular in 2020, even exploding the figures of its predecessor with 64.8 million units sold (against 46.3 million for the iPhone Xr in 2019). A rather surprising first place in the end, since the iPhone 11 was already the best-selling device in the first half of 2020. We also note that the top 3 for the previous year consists entirely of smartphones from Apple, with at third place is the iPhone 12. Is that the name of the future 2021 winner?
