People Can Fly explains their strategy with Outriders and why they are confident of showing their game without compromise before the premiere.
This week, Square Enix and People Can Fly announced the free demo of Outriders, a cooperative action RPG that will debut on April 1, but will allow players to give a multi-hour preview, with the option to take progress to the product. final. As part of his talk with 3DJuegos, Bartek Kmita explained why it is increasingly rare to find free demos of games. The answer: the early access model appeared.
Players were willing to pay for early access and pay for the demo“[La estrategia de los demos] was abandoned by the players, not by the developers. The developers realized that players were willing to pay for early access and pay for the demo, so since most people are ambitious, they went down that road and it changed our industry, “stated Kmita.” Although not you believe it, we’re making this game (Outriders) for us too because we are also players, so we asked ourselves what is fair for us and decided that this was a very fair approach to our game. The games are not cheap, so for someone who buys the game, it’s only fair to give you a chance to test the game.
Kmita added that People Can Fly is not ashamed of Outriders, quite the contrary and they hope people like it too. “So we asked ourselves why not give people a chance to try the game for free and decide whether or not they want to buy it.”
