At a time when comics seem to be in good health on television, television continues to make eyes at the myriad of franchises in the world of video games. On this occasion we have learned that Sony Television is preparing a series adaptation of ‘Twisted Metal’, vehicle fighting games for Playstation.
Although it is not clear if he will star in it, Will Arnett (‘Bojack Horseman’) produces this television adaptation that comes from an original idea of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, screenwriters of ‘Deadpool’. Michael Jonathan Smith (‘Cobra Kai’) will also join the project as a screenwriter.
The ‘Twisted Metal’ series is described as an action comedy that follows a charlatan who is offered a better life, in return must deliver a mysterious package through a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief you’ll take on looters behind the wheel of destructive vehicles and other road hazards, including a deranged clown driving an ice cream truck.
‘Twisted Man’, 25 years of crushing cars
With five video games in twenty-five years behind him to brainstorm ideas, there are currently no further details of the project, which is in an early stage of development. This is not the only PlayStation project, since we have Craig Mazin developing the version of ‘The Last of Us’ that HBO prepares.
