One of the things we want to do is launch several of our own products on Amazon. One of the things that is not delaying is this.
When things go well they can go better. It is one of the phrases that is being true in recent months. There is no reason to complain. It is also true that my wife and I have been working for months with a very high intensity. What we are experiencing has not fallen from the sky but is a consequence of the price we have paid in 2019 and 2020.
Launch a new product without neglecting the existing
One of the things that I’ve learned that I don’t want to repeat is to neglect the things that are working when you get into something new. In my case it is being Amazon. Although February is no longer at the level of January, we will touch the 40,000 euros of turnover. Then there is also MarktMaat. It is a project that is taking off with more and more leads and little by little also clients. If within a month you contact us to become an agency client, I would not know if we really would have the capacity to give you a good service with the team that we have today. It is not a question of quality but of quantity. Our team is small and I don’t want to repeat another mistake from the past: hiring too early without having strong structures behind it.
Added to this is the desire to launch our own product in 2021. The team we have goes as far as it goes. They cannot be blamed. They are doing too much. What are the options we have? I have already debated the first one months ago and the question whether or not it makes sense to outsource the launch of a new product on Amazon. The second option that is going through my head these days is the following.
Hire a freelancer to carry out the task
A middle way between doing it internally and outsourcing the task is to hire a freelancer to carry out the tasks that we cannot carry out due to lack of time. The challenge in this context is finding a suitable person. I would like to find a motivated person but it is also a matter of trust because he will learn and see many internal issues of ours that I do not want to go outside. The option of choosing this path is a way of creating new knowledge within our company and not leaving everything in the hands of an agency that does not share the knowledge they have with us.
I will be honest with you. It is not only a question of trust but also of money. I am investing in many issues in parallel. If it were not for consulting activity in Germany, all this would not be possible. We must also consider the possibility that tomorrow I will run out of clients, therefore I cannot plan with the flow of money that is coming in today forever. At this point I am right now. I would like to be able to opt for this second route if the opportunity arises. I will tell you.
