Few consensus is clearer among the gaming community than the statement that Half-Life Black Mesa is one of the best remakes made in the industry. Especially considering that it was a project created by fans.
As we well know, the title of Valve received several expansions and among them is Blue Shift, which was carried out in its day by Gearbox, company that created Borderlands and that it has recently been acquired by the Embracer Group.
Now a group called HECU Collective wanted to recover the spirit of that first remake and do the same with this DLC. Black Mesa: Blue Shift is the name given to this revision that will make use of the same resources as the original Black Mesa.
Of course, as it happened at the time, will be released in various chapters. While it is unknown how advanced the title is, we can take a look through some screenshots and its creators have promised a demo soon. They are the same ones that released the Black Mesa Black Ops and Azure Sheep mods.
20 years old owns the original Blue Shift, launched in 2001, and allowed us to live the adventures of Barney Calhoun, Black Mesa Facility Security Member. It wasn’t the highest rated expansion in Half-Life, but the HECU Collective decided to focus on this one as Opposing Force is already in the process of being remade by another team.
