James Gunn has revealed the first news of Peacemaker, the spinoff series of Suicide Squad.
James Gunn is on all fronts! We can even say that the director will be very present in the future years to come. And for good reason, in addition to Suicide Squad 2 -which has just released its first synopsis- and Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the latter is also working on Peacemaker, a spin-off series inspired by the DC Universe team of anti-heroes. Scheduled on HBO Max for early January 2022, the spin-off is already beginning to unfold. Proof, James gunn shared on his Twitter account the very first backstage photos of the show, revealing the names of the actors present at the casting.
On the program of Peacemaker, we will find John Cena – who will also play a brand new character in Suicide Squad 2-, as well as Danielle Brooks (OITNB), Robert Patrick (X-Files), Jennifer Holland, Chris Conrad, Chukwudi Iwuji, Christopher Heyerdahl (Twilight) and Steve Agee (Guardians of the Galaxy). For now, no details regarding the plot have been revealed. And for good reason, it is difficult for James Gunn to entrust the opening lines of the synopsis without openly spoiling the film Suicide Squad 2. We only know that the series will focus on the origins and backstory of the superhero. Anyway, these photos already offer us a first glimpse of Peacemaker’s costume, while making us aware of the good humor that seems to reign on the set. Enough to make us want to know more!
