There could be a number of reasons why Jared Leto’s Joker will be the most successful character in Justice League’s Snyder Cut.
Jared Leto’s Joker will be back in the Snyder Cut of Justice League. The opportunity for the actor to Suicide Squad to restore the image of the Prince of Crime but also for the Zack Snyder to introduce one of the flagship characters of his universe, if not the best. Although it is still unknown the exact involvement of Batman’s nemesis in the feature film, the atmosphere developed by the latter does indeed seem to correspond more to the universe of the Joker. Where some critics had put forward the dichotomy between the tone adopted by Zack Snyder and the apprehension of superheroes like Superman, the Joker of Jared Leto as for him, seems more to correspond to the paw of the director.
While the film will obviously focus on the adventures of iconic superheroes from the DC Universe, its tone seems to match that of the villains more. In addition, Zack Snyder’s filmography has always made sure to portray characters as dark as they are tortured, despite their heroic side. Evidenced by his work on Watchmen or the exploration of the Knightmares in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The filmmaker has often equated his protagonists with their trauma, this detail making Jared Leto’s Joker’s place particularly legitimate in the film. Moreover, like the Prince of Crime, Zack Snyder’s world relies heavily on the idea of chaos. It is for this reason that the face to face between Batman and Joker in Justice League is an indispensable scene for the DCEU. While opposing these two iconic characters, Zack Snyder personifies through the role of Jared Leto the essence of his own cinematic world. An element that should therefore restore the image of the supervillain in the eyes of fans but above all make him the best character of the Snyder Cut.
