The 2014 Gamora introduced in Avengers Endgame, will she join Guardians of the Galaxy again in the next adventures of Star-Lord & Cie?
The events ofAvengers: Endgame will have a heavy impact on the next Phases of the MCU. If the series WandaVision has already been an opportunity to observe the importance of the Thanos snap and the blip, other superheroes have seen their fates totally changed after the time travel. This is particularly the case of the Guardians of the Galaxy and more particularly of Gamora (Zoe saldana). Sacrificed on Vormir, the version discovered by spectators during James Gunn’s first two films will finally be replaced by that of 2014. An interesting bet for the filmmaker who will allow him to reboot the franchise but which will profoundly modify the narrative arc of the heroine, her romantic relationship with Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) as well as her (re) integration into the team of Star-Lord.
The fact that Gamora comes from a new era will inevitably impact the evolution of the character. However, it will offer him a refreshing apprehension following Thanos’ actions. The end ofAvengers: Endgame saw Peter Quill go in search of Gamora after she fled after the final battle. While the whereabouts of this murderer are still unknown, the fact that she still exists in a post-Thanos world suggests that she may reappear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While providing a new and surprising story, the challenge around Gamora may allow her to re-enter the superhero team. An element still uncertain however, the character and the trials of the character can offer a different incarnation. In this context, the heroine could decide to turn her back on the Guardians of the Galaxy given the modification of her past from 2014 and the opposite view desired by James Gunn. Her relationship with Peter Quill could also suffer, although fans are hoping to see them fall in love again in the third installment. Indeed, Star-Lord will most certainly have to give up on his romance with Gamora. An element that should not announce anything good about the future apprehension of the heroine but above all explain how Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is shaping up to be the franchise’s most touching film.
