Paramount would be looking again for a director for Star Trek 4, who would notably sign the return of Chris Hemsworth in the role of George Kirk.
Between the statements of Zachary Quinto or those of Simon Pegg about a possible Star Trek 4, we were seriously starting to lose hope of ever seeing the crew led by Chris Pine again. Indeed, since the release of Star Trek: No Limits in 2016, there were many rumors about the project, the latest giving the impression that the idea of making a new film had been completely abandoned. However, if we believe a new rumor relayed by the site Giant Freaking Robot, That’s far from being the case. According to their sources, who have already confirmed to them the presence of Don Cheadle in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Paramount is currently seeking a director for a fourth film. On the plot side, the studios would have stayed on their first idea for this sequel
In this Star Trek 4, Captain Jim Kirk’s crew, still played by Chris Pine, would travel in time and meet the father of the latter, George Kirk, again played by Chris Hemsworth. That would not be all since always according to the sources of Giant Freaking Robot, Paramount would also like to include William Shatner in the cast, the interpreter of Jim Kirk in the series Star Trek original. Last but not without importance, this opus should be the darkest of the entire franchise and would not be intended for theaters, but for the Paramount + streaming platform. If the rumor turns out to be true, Paramount studios would therefore have a rather ambitious project in mind. We hope, however, that if it is this plot that is followed, the casting of the franchise and the development of the characters will not be put aside in favor of some multiverse. Just as we hope Justin Lin can be back behind the camera, with Simon pegg once again to the scenario.
