No one would have blamed Zack snyder If he had decided to leave the post-production of ‘Justice League’ after the suicide of his daughter Autumn in March 2017, but the truth is that it took a couple of months until the filmmaker decided that he did not give more of himself , being subsequently replaced by Joss Whedon, whose version of the movie was not to the liking of many DC fans
Finally, Snyder will be able to premiere his montage of ‘Justice League’ this 2021 on HBO Max with a 4-hour film, but before seeing it we have discovered what was the real reason that led him to leave the film at the time thanks to an interview featured in the forthcoming book ‘Release the Snyder Cut’:
I was tired. It was clear to me that my family needed me more than all this shit. He needed to honor them and do what he could to heal the world. I had no energy to fight the studio and fight for the movie. Literally zero energy for that. I really think that’s the main reason. I think there is a different world that I was staying in and trying. And I’m sure I could … because every movie is a fight, right? He was used to that, but he didn’t have the energy. There was no desire to fight. I had defeated what was happening in my life and I couldn’t, I didn’t care … that’s how it was.
It seems clear that in Warner they were not making things exactly easy for him to respect his vision of ‘Justice League’, so he simply burst and made it clear that he had to disconnect and support his family in such a delicate moment. It is still curious that without all this we would surely never have seen the film as it was conceived by Snyder …
