Thomas Happ ensures that this content is made possible by the game community.
Shortly after the release of Axiom Verge six years ago, its sole developer, Thomas Happ, fully focused on the development of the game’s sequel: Axiom Verge 2. After announcing a slight delay for the sequel’s release, the game’s creator has announced that the first title in the series you will be receiving your first free content update and that all those who play in Pc you can already test your beta.
The Randomizer will place the objects needed to progress randomly on the map.How is this possible if the lone Axiom Verge developer has been working hard on the sequel? Thomas Happ clarifies that this update is made possible by the game’s speedrunners community, Who they worked for several years on mods that give rise to this first free official DLC for the game.
The update consists of the introduction of the Randomizer, a tool that, as its name implies, randomly distribute the necessary objects to progress in the game, although it does so in such a way that the player does not get caught in the metroidvania. Happ also detailed that there will be three levels of difficulty: Beginner, Advanced and Masochist. The developer also warned that starting in advanced mode players will need to have knowledge of some advanced techniques that speedrunners often use to pass some areas and that the masochistic mode is only suitable for two or three people from the community who have shown great skills with the game.
Thomas Happ commented that as soon as it leaves its beta stage, the content expansion will be brought free of charge to the console versions too from Axiom Verge, thanked those who have made it possible and commented that we will very likely see a similar feature in Axiom Verge 2.
