The Batman promises to address an untold story of his hero, rarely portrayed in the cinematographic genre!
Eagerly awaited, The batman will see Robert Pattinson slip into Bruce Wayne’s shoes and don the Dark Knight costume. A promising role for the British actor who succeeds Ben Affleck, since the project of Matt Reeves should offer an unprecedented understanding of the hero and his universe. Dark, brutal, and realistic, the film will focus on Bruce Wayne’s early years as Gotham’s masked vigilante. An original period finally so far little depicted in the previous adaptations on the bat man who should then move away from theorigin story classic character but also narrative arcs specific to the apprehension of superheroes in cinema.
Indeed, although this choice was certainly made in order to distance itself from the first films on Batman, the exploration of the Dark Knight’s journey during this unprecedented period will also allow Matt Reeves’ project to move away from the triptych mixing the origins of the superhero, the exploration of his superpowers brought to their climax and finally the retirement of his functions. By choosing to show us the first steps of Bruce Wayne in the skin of his masked alter-ego, the director of The batman questions the moment between the hero’s initial transformation and the true fulfillment of his powers. A choice which should make it possible to assimilate the film with Robert Pattinson to a real initiatory journey for his character. This could ultimately explain why Matt Reeves’ feature film is particularly eagerly awaited by fans, especially since the Batman has benefited from numerous adaptations and continues to fascinate fans of the DCEU.
