More than thirty years after the release of this cult comedy, Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall are back in the Big Apple for the sequel to A Prince in New York!

If we had been told a few years ago thatA prince in New York would have the right to an enticing suite, we would not have believed it! However, the generation of the 80’s will really have something to rejoice in and dive back into the humor of their youth, Amazon Prime Video having unveiled the first trailer for the second part of this cult comedy, expected on March 5, 2021! As promised, we will obviously find the famous duo composed of Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall respectively in the skin of King Akeem of Zamunda and his faithful friend, Semmi. If the John Landis film released in 1988 saw the prince leave for the Big Apple in order to find love, the sequel will see the character played by the star of Beverly Hills cop go in search of an heir.

A scriptwriting spring which will therefore have something to recall the previous part, the film this time piloted by Craig Brewer (Dolemite is My Name), also using the same staging strategies. Here, the two actors will also lend their features to a varied palette of characters as was the case in the first feature film. Casting side, Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall will be accompanied by Wesley Snipes, Tracy morgan, Leslie Jones, Jermaine Fowler and James Earl Jones. Although modernized, this sequel seems to want to offer fans of the first hour, the energy and dynamism specific to 1980s comedies. In any case, the tone revealed by these first images seems to correspond to the spirit of the first film , A Prince in New York 2 thus joining the (not so restricted) circle of cult films soon to be entitled to a sequel. The proof with Top Gun: Maverick or the teasing of a 5th part of The lethal Weapon by Mel Gibson.
