The explosive season finale of season 2 of The Mandalorian left these questions unanswered!

Watch out, SPOILERS! If you still haven’t seen the last episode of the series Disney +, there is still time to close the page. Indeed, the clap of the end of the initiatory journey undertaken by Grogu and the Mandalorian for more than a year on our television screens ended in apotheosis! And for good reason, in the final episode of season 2 of The Mandalorian, Baby Yoda and Din Djarin have finally crossed paths with a famous Jedi. It was young Luke Skywalker himself who finally answered the Child’s call. Always accompanied by his faithful sidekick R2-D2, the latter disembarks in X-Wings and flies to the rescue of the bounty hunter by slicing through the armor of the Dark Troopers with a single blow of his lightsaber. A pleasurable and sensational twist which has been widely praised by all Starwarsian fans but which still poses many questions for the future.

What will happen to Grogu?

Now that Luke Skywalker has come to pick up Grogu to complete his training, will we have the pleasure of seeing the Child again in the sequel? Indeed, it is not certain that the next episodes of The Mandalorian be focused on his future alongside the Jedi. However, after the heartbreaking farewells of Din Djarin and Baby Yoda, it would be very appreciable to see the Mandalorian cross paths with his former protégé again. Especially since his departure leaves many questions unanswered: Where does Luke plan to take Grogu from now on? How is he going to train him now that the Jedi Order is wiped out? Unless the Child completely disappears from the plot to make way for the Dark Saber and the reign of the Mandalorians. A choice that would be regrettable since it would mean that fans will not have the chance to experience the backstory of Luke Skywalker’s mysterious past before. The force awakens.

Who will play as Luke Skywalker in the sequel?

If the unexpected return of the mythical Jedi in the series sparked a wave of enthusiasm among fans of the prelogy Star Wars, the latter also poses an essential question. Namely: who will play Luke if his return were to extend into the next episodes? If in the final episode of season 2 of The Mandalorian, Disney finally preferred to use the young version of Mark Hamill using computer graphics, is it possible that this solution is considered in the long term? A question that causes a lot of debate on social networks, some fans preferring to see actor Sebastian Stan (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier) take the features of the mythical Jedi.

Is Moff Gideon definitely defeated?

Disarmed and at the mercy of Bo-Katan, Moff Gideon finds himself in great difficulty in the final episode. Yet the actor Giancarlo Esposito who plays the Big Bad has already announced his return in season 3 of The Mandalorian. “It appears to be the case. But I have a feeling you will see me more next season. You are more than likely to see a lot of Moff Gideon“he confided to EW. It remains to be seen for what reasons the latter will intervene again in the plot. It’s possible that his escape is central to the storytelling, especially if the Dark Saber becomes the common thread for future episodes. Unless the latter tries again to seize Grogu with the help of the Empire. Case to follow!

What will happen to the Dark Saber?

Beyond the cameo of Luke Skywalker and R2-D2, the final season of The Mandalorian also introduced an interesting twist when Moff Gideon explains to Din Djarin that he is now the new owner of the Dark Saber. By disarming this minion of the Empire, he became – without knowing it – the master of the mythical lightsaber. A new acquisition that allows him to claim the throne of Mandalore, an important detail that Bo-Katan had probably forgotten to tell him. A double punishment for the young woman who therefore loses her title of heiress. It is then possible that the rest of the series then focuses its plot on this astonishing twist. And for good reason, there is no doubt for a single second that this turnaround will suddenly shake up the existence of Din Djarin.
