The absolute worst time I have experienced something similar was in Kenshi. I told a character to run to a town. I must have clicked him to move into a store because when I swapped back to him, he was beating down a store door and then got one-shot by the guards and lost an arm.

Skyrim was the worst for this, there would be 10 random items on a shelf free to take and so you are spamming “grab” on them when you pickup the last item and it locks onto a “steal” item. Great thanks

I didn’t play Morrowind for like a year because I had no idea how shops worked and proceeded to get wrecked by the shopkeep in the first town. I’m glad I gave it another chance, but they really throw you in without instructions in that game.

Have you ever stolen an item that later becomes a mission and you can’t do that mission because you already stole that item, and they won’t let you just hand it over? Or to ask my question differently, have you ever played Skyrim?
This was my intro to Fallout 3. I can’t remember what I did but I pissed off the entire town and thought that me, hiding in the bathroom from them, would be a great save point.
