  1. My recommendation is to straight up buy Legacy Collection as it contains all of the paid DLCs released in 2013-2017 period if you are looking to play this game in a longer term. Silk Road DLCs aren’t necessary but always welcome when you want to extend your fun and playtime.

  2. Highly recommend you DON’T pick up this game. There is a mod that auto kicks people out of lobbies if they are not a certain rank. I bought the game as a experienced payday 1 player and no one would give me a chance. Fuck this game and the people who play it.

  3. Worth it. It’s also still very popular (like within kidney punching distance to FF14 PC).

With that large popularity also comes problems with community dick chugging and the DLC overload problem that is certainly *more than a headache*.

But for a dollar it’s beyond an easy purchase even if you only have a rather mild interest in coop shooters (It’s basically all types in one). And if you like it take everyone else’s advice and then buy the Legacy Collection for 12 bucks.

  4. After I heard about new Infamy system, I’m afraid to start PD2.
I only had will to grind Inf-18, but now max level become so far away …

  5. Payday 2 is a great game. The CEO of the company behind the game forced the devs to introduce microtransactions about five years ago, but they were removed again within a year and that CEO has since been removed from the company for all sorts of terrible decisions and possible crimes. The game has carried a reputation hit for that one misstep far longer than is reasonable, when what it is now is actually one of the best co-op games on PC, with a huge amount of surprisingly worthwhile content built up over the seven years for which it has been updated. Some of that content is DLC, but most of it isn’t, and you can actually play DLC missions without the DLC anyway so it’s hardly mandatory. There’s also a lot of mods for the game, including at least one very significant community overhaul to the game’s enemies, skills and weapon balance.

  6. It has full VR support with crossplay with non-vr players. Probably one of the better VR co-op experiences, even compared to ground-up dedicated VR games. Only gripe is the controls feel better on Vive wands then Index ones.

  7. My friends and I tried this game. There isn’t much of a tutorial and we couldn’t figure out how to subdue the security guard on the first heist. They got frustrated and quit. We never went back to try it again. It’s a shame because I think this is right up our alley. They’ve just gotten old and have no patience in figuring things out anymore. They prefer “waypoint hopping” games now.

  8. Game was insane when it launched, then the DLC came, was good, and then it went out of control. I guess the game is still hyper fun, but careful of the DLCs.
